244. Black Plaster Steer Totem

Unusual plaster or composite piece, in a fanciful design style, featuring a steer skull and a naked human figure holding fish.
Style is not based on standard first nations forms, but loosely follows a design which seems more African in origin, apart from the skull headpiece.
Vaguely similar decoration to no.212, with obscure script running around the base, echoing a number of different types of symbol. Presumably fairly modern and mass market production.

No visible trade marks and hand finished.

243. Cherilea Toy Totem Pole

1960's toy totem made by Cherilea for the toy soldier/western figure market. 3" high, in four segmented sections allowing the pole to be extended or swapped around. Entirely imaginary design, made to compete with other toy lines such as Britains, Marx and Timpo. See no. 97, 60

Striking model of Thunderbird with wings opening as if ready to fly. No makers mark, sticker on rear. Slight repair to one ear.4” high

235. Miniature Black Thunderbird Totem

Small black resin piece, no makers marks. Possibly Boma or Pearlite. 2” high See 148. For similarities.

234. Boma Resin Trinket Box

Red resin Trinket Box from Boma. Cast with sea monster motif on the lid and pod of whales circling the outer edge of the box.

The piece is marked 'Boma' in the usual fashion, as part of the casting and has an adhesive label on the base, but also includes a small glyph as part of the design. Artists logo perhaps? Glyph does not appear on most other Boma products and does not look like a first nations style. Glyph can be seen on N0.68 Mustard Bowl, which uses the same design.

233. Wooden Thunderbird by Kiana

7 " high carved wooden piece, signed Kiana. Compact and precisely carved, with traditional motifs. Age uncertain.

Large (6" diameter) Bowl by Boma. Cast in black resin, with sea green interior glaze.

uter design is a recumbent Bear with clawed forepaws. Above the nose is a vertical section representing a hat with three rings to show the owners high status.
